Alternatives to AA

Alcoholics Anonymous is a well-known program used to help people recover from addiction. It has saved thousands of lives since its creation in 1935. Over the years, AA has expanded and there are now meetings available virtually from your computer.

AA is not always the right answer for everyone. That’s why it’s so great that there are other alternatives available. I found this out the hard way, even though I was told otherwise. Here are some of the best alternatives to AA that have worked for me and others in the recovery community. Some of these are support groups, not full programs. I would recommend trying out different groups to see what works for you. There is not one way to recover. For me what worked was a combination of coaching, therapy and my sober moms support group! I’m so proud of you, keep going.
